Residents of Gadi decry lack of classroom blocks

Residents of Gadi in the Ga Electoral Area, Wa West District have decried the lack of classrooms for the primary school children in the community.

They said the primary school have only three classrooms which serve primary one to primary six.

Speaking in an interview with Info Radio at the community, Ali Abubakari, a resident of the community noted that two classes are combined in one classroom for academic instructions, which he said impedes effective teaching and learning.

Mr Ali added that the there is no accommodation at community for teachers, compelling them to commute from Wa to teach at the community on daily basis. That he said reduced the teacher-pupil contact hours.

Another resident of the community, Fadilatu Bashiru noted that lack of school feeding programme at the school is also discouraging the children from attending.

She therefore appealed to the government and the Wa West District Assembly to extend school feeding programme to the school to serve as an enticement to the children.
