Other public infrastructures like the Mangu Bishop JHS form one B, part of the primary school and a part of the Chaangu JHS, and the teachers’ quarters were affected.

The rainstorm also collapsed the Chaangu Baptist Church structure. Mr Sulemana Iddrisu Botigi, the Assembly Member for the Mangu electoral area, noted that the victims are yet to receive any support from the government.

"Regarding support from authorities for the victims since the disaster occurred, nothing has changed. I am currently working with NADMO, and when the incident occurred, I immediately contacted an officer to assess the situation. As of now, we are still in the process of gathering information and providing assistance,” he explained.

He mentioned that since the school is a public institution, he approached the Northern Development Authority (NDA) to see if they could offer any support for renovating the school.

Mr. Botigi also stated that he has written to the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion Project (SOCO) to seek support for the school's renovation.

Mr Yahaya Mahamud, the Assembly Member for Sankan Chaangu, stated that the victims of the disaster have not yet received support from the government or any non-governmental organization.

"As of now, we have not received any support from any organization or the government since the incident occurred. Some of the victims have managed to mobilize resources on their own to repair their affected structures. In my last conversation with NADMO, I was informed that they have also not received any support from the central government."
