OCP Africa, a leading fertilizer manufacturing and agronomic solutions company, has organized a large-scale field demonstration for more than 200 farmers in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.
The event, held at Piesee, focused on equipping farmers with modern agronomic practices while showcasing the effectiveness of OCP’s specialized fertilizer blends.
During the demonstration, farmers observed clear differences between crops treated with OCP fertilizers and those grown with conventional inputs. The OCP plots displayed stronger vegetative growth, healthier plants, and greater yield that impressed many of the participants.
Mr. Insah Kofi, the host farmer who offered his field for the exercise, expressed satisfaction with the outcome. He noted that using OCP fertilizers had significantly improved productivity on his farm, urging fellow farmers to adopt the products after witnessing the visible results for themselves.
Representing the District Director of Agriculture, Yahaya Issahaque commended OCP Africa for its continuous investment in farmer support initiatives. He highlighted that the company develops fertilizer blends tailored to specific soil types across Ghana, ensuring farmers benefit from inputs that deliver optimal results and reduce waste.

“OCP’s commitment to crop-specific and soil-specific solutions is helping farmers get value for their money. I encourage all farmers to consider these products to maximize yields and improve harvest outcomes,” Issahaque stated.
OCP Africa, a subsidiary of the global OCP Group, has been active in Ghana for several years, working closely with farmer groups, agricultural extension officers, and local institutions.

The company is known for providing training, soil-testing services, and customized fertilizers designed to address nutrient deficiencies common in many rural farming communities. Its interventions have contributed to improved soil health, increased crop productivity, and better income outcomes for smallholder farmers across the country.
Through field demonstrations such as the one in Wa West, OCP Africa continues to strengthen its partnership with Ghanaian farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture and supporting national food security goals.
