The newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nadowli-Kaleo District Hon. Mary Haruna has expressed profound gratitude to all individuals, organizations, and stakeholders whose unwavering support and dedication made her confirmation possible.
In a statement issued and copied to Wa based Info Radio 91.1 FM , Hon. Haruna acknowledged that her achievement is not merely a personal milestone but a collective triumph rooted in the efforts of many. “As I step into this sacred responsibility, I do so on the shoulders of giants—visionary leaders, selfless mentors, loyal comrades, and beloved family members whose guidance and support have brought me to this defining moment,” she stated.
In her message, Hon. Haruna singled out key figures whose roles were instrumental in her journey. She praised His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for his inspiring leadership and vision for an inclusive Ghana that paves the way for women to rise and serve. She also extended appreciation to the Right Honourable Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, for his continuous advocacy for democratic growth and women’s leadership.
The Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, along with the National Chairman of the NDC, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and his team, received special mention for their support and endorsement. Hon. Haruna also acknowledged the Upper West Regional Minister and Regional NDC Chairman for their strategic coordination and unwavering backing throughout her journey.
Legal counsel from Lawyer Abdul-Shakur and mentorship from Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah, Member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo, were highlighted as pivotal components in her pathway to leadership. She further commended the dedicated staff of the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly, the constituency grassroots, and the regional electoral team for their professionalism, loyalty, and commitment to democratic processes.
