The Assembly Member-elect for Kperisi Electoral Area (EA) in the Wa Municipality, Mr Yahaya Abdul-Walliu, has expressed commitment to working towards resolving the major development needs of the electoral area.
He said timely access to primary healthcare services in some communities in the electoral area, access to potable water and extension of electricity across the electoral area are some key issues he would tackle.
Mr Abdul-Walliu, who said this in an interview with Info Radio, indicated that the electoral area is plagued with a plethora of challenges so his main focus as the assembly member would be to tackle those challenges.
He said he has come to build on the successes of his predecessor to help mitigate the challenges the people in the area are facing.
He indicated that they will seek support from development agencies and also lobby the municipal assembly to achieve the needed development for the area.
On education, Mr Yahaya Abdul Walliu said the school block in Sagu needs renovation because it is not in the right shape.
He mentioned that the three schools in the Kperisi community lack furniture for pupils to sit and learn.
He added that the schools also need teachers. He therefore called on authorities to help them by posting teachers to the community.
He went further to appeal to the government to provide the school with learning materials.
He added that he will also try to get some of the learning materials for the schools.
