Lawra: Residents sing praises of MP for salvaging water situation

Residents of Lawra-Tuori and Berifoh-Baapare in the Lawra Municipality have sung praises of the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Lawyer Bede Anwataazumo Ziedeng for bringing relief to their water situations.

The MP commissioned two mechanized boreholes for the two communities in order to reduce their challenges in accessing potable water.

Speaking at the commissioning of the borehole at Tuori, the Chief of Tuori, Naa Martin Ziem Dery Yor, and some residents of the two communities, said they were grateful to the MP for adding them another potable water source to their single hand-pump boreholes that were serving each community.

Mr Ziedeng said he started drilling the two mechanized boreholes in 2016 as the NDC parliamentary candidate in the 2016 elections but could not complete the project.

He thus expressed dissatisfaction about the abandonment of the projects by the current government administration for no good reason.

He indicated that it is a backward practice and must be discarded completely.

Mr Abudul Karimu, the Municipal Coordinating Director, on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, thanked the MP for collaborating with the assembly to provide potable water to the people in the district.
