Jirapa Municipal Assembly Members Approves MCE Nominee Peter N.N To- Ang After Second Confirmation Vote

Mr. Peter N.N To- Ang has been officially approved as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Jirapa municipality following a successful second round of confirmation voting by the municipal assembly members.

In the first confirmation vote, Mr. To- Ang received 34 votes, translating to 65.38%, while 18 assembly members, accounting for 34.62%, voted against his nomination. This initial outcome fell short of the two-thirds majority required for his confirmation, as stipulated by law.

However, determination prevailed during the second round of the voting process, held earlier today, where Mr. To -Ang demonstrated increased support. In this decisive vote, he garnered 42 votes in favor, significantly surpassing the threshold with only 10 assembly members voting against him. This impressive result solidified his position as the Municipal Chief Executive, affirming the confidence of a majority of the assembly members for his nomination by the president John Dramani Mahama .

Assembly members speaking to Info Radio expressed their commitment to working collaboratively with Mr. To- Ang, emphasizing the need for unity and progress in the Jirapa municipality.
