Music enthusiasts across the Upper West Region are gearing up for an electrifying night as Info Radio announces the grand finale of the highly anticipated "Upper West Next Music Star? reality show" . The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at the forecourt of Info Radio, promising a night filled with top-tier musical performances and excitement.

Since its inception in July 2025, the "Upper West Next Music Star" has rapidly gained popularity, captivating over 600,000 listeners region-wide on Radio with hundreds of thousands online. The show aims to unearth and promote the region’s budding musical talents, offering a platform to showcase their skills and gain recognition beyond borders.

Out of an initial pool of 15 talented musicians who successfully auditioned into the show, only five have made it to the finals after weeks of fierce competition and captivating performances. These finalists are:

Alaba

Alaba:  A renowned local musician celebrated for his exceptional talent in traditional Dagaare songs, featuring the unique sounds of the Gobili, a traditional local instrument.

The grand finale will feature each finalist performing in the first round. Following these initial performances, the judges , comprising experienced music producers and seasoned musicians—will score the contestants, accounting for 40% of the final decision. The remaining 60% will come from public votes, emphasizing community participation in selecting the ultimate winner.

The stakes are high, with the victorious artist receiving a cash prize of 5,000 Ghana cedis, a professional music album recording deal, a one-year marketing and promotional package, and a music video shoot. The first runner-up will be awarded 1,500 Ghana cedis, along with a single music production, while the second runner-up will receive 1,000 Ghana cedis and a single production.

According to Gabriel Mwini, Managing Director of Info Radio, the "Upper West Next Music Star" is envisioned as an annual event dedicated to nurturing local talent and elevating Upper West’s musical identity on the national and international stage. “This platform is a testament to our commitment to supporting and showcasing the rich musical talents of our region,” he stated. He further called on organizations and brands to support future editions of the show to help provide emerging musicians with opportunities to develop their craft and promote Upper West’s vibrant music scene.
