Residents of Kpagedinga and Kanyenduori in the Kanyeni Electoral Area, in the Nadowli-Kaleo district of the Upper West Region have raised serious concerns over the lack of electricity in their communities, citing it as a major hurdle affecting daily life and community relations. The residents shared their frustrations during an interview with Info Radio, explaining that the absence of power has heightened tensions with neighboring communities that already enjoy electricity access.

The lack of electricity has forced residents to travel long distances to charge mobile phones, hindering communication and access to information. A resident from Kpagedinga emphasized the impact on healthcare, noting that although the community has a Community Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound, the lack of power complicates health service delivery, especially during nighttime hours.

Amatus Yirinoba, the Assemblyman for the Kanyeni Electoral Area, acknowledged the electricity shortage affecting Kpagedinga and Kanyenduori. He assured the public that efforts are underway to extend the national grid to these communities, aiming to enhance living standards and bolster healthcare services.
