I’m more popular than Jane Nana – Salam Mustapha

The National Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has stated that he is more popular in Ghana than Professor Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang, the vice presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

He was speaking to the media in Wa during the NPP Upper West Regional Youth Wing and TESCON conference over the weekend.

“I’m more popular than Jane; I’m more popular than her in this country, so I don’t know what she’s going to add to John Mahama who is a dead goat. So it’s a dead ticket. When you put myself and Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang here on the street today, I’ll be more recognizable than her,” he stated.

The National Executive Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) endorsed Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate for the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, for the 2024 general elections. This marks her second consecutive term as the running mate, having previously served in the same capacity during the 2020 election.

Mr Mustapha noted that the NPP is well-organised and poised for victory in the 2024 elections.

He said “we are going to win the December elections. We are going to campaign as if we have never done so before, compare the records, comparative records of the two parties, of the two leaders and that is what we are going to do as far as this election is concern.”

He stated that “by the close of polls we are going to beat the NDC again and retire John Mahama for good.”

He mentioned that “Ghanaians want a leader who will work in their interest not a leader we have tried before and failed. Who has gone home to sit and say that he has seen his mistakes and now he is coming to correct them.”
