Gospel Light International and Team Watchers Donate to Widows in Upper West

The Wa Branch of the Gospel Light International Church, in partnership with the Team Watchers, an Accra based non-denominational prayer group, has donated cloths materials to about one hundred needy widows in the Upper West Region.

The gesture which had been an annual event since 2015 was to put smiles on the faces of those women.

Speaking to Info Radio in Wa at the weekend after the donation exercise, Pastor Holys Kpakpare, the Head Pastor of the Wa branch of the Gospel Light International noted that the donation was under the auspices of the Presiding Bishop of the church, Bishop Mathew Addae Mensah.

He added that the beneficiary widows were selected from some districts and municipalities in the region including the Nadowli-Kaleo and Wa West Districts.

He said they were also to donate some bags of rice and gallons of oil to the Wayiri Orphanage in the Wa Municipality.

On his part, Apostle Kester Amoah, the Team Lead of Team Watchers, noted that a total 1,600 pieces of cloths were being distributed to needy widows across the 16 regions of the country.

“Our objective is to pray for the country. We started this operation since 2015. We move around as God directs us to towns and accident scenes, where there are challenges we go there to spend time to pray”. Apostle Amoah added.

Apostle Amoah noted that some Ghanaians through their utterances have cursed the land and that the Team Watchers was praying for the country to break those curses.

“We’ve come to understand that our mouths are so powerful. The bible also says that there is life and death in our tongues. Ghanaians have cursed our land by the things that we say.

“These things have become the foundation in the nation and the region and the foundation cannot support development. It is the nature of the foundation that determines structure that is built on it that is why subsequent governments are not able to succeed.

“So in giving these things (the cloths) we solicit their help to so that they come joins us so that we use our mouths to change the very things that our mouths have done to the land”, he explained.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Info Radio after receiving the donation commended the team for the gesture and prayed for God’s protection for them so that they could also continue to offer the help to the needy in society.
