Ga Basic School Grapple with Poor Infrastructure

The Assembly Member of the Ga Electoral Area in the Wa West District, Mr Loggu-Naa Mumuni, has stated that inadequate infrastructure is a major challenge in access to education in Ga.

He said both the children and the teachers in the school are grappling with limited infrastructure making it difficult for even the teachers to sit and mark exercise.

Mr Loggu-Naa, who said this in an interview with Info Radio in Wa, indicated that the school currently have a three-unit classroom block that was built many years ago as well as a pavilion that was constructed around 1996.

The Assembly Member explained that he is not sitting aloof in the face of these challenges and that he has raised the issue at the assembly meeting and was able to secure a limited number of furniture but the infrastructure remains a challenge.

Mr. Loggu-Naa Mumuni also bemoaned the limited number of potable water sources in the Ga community. He said though there are some boreholes in the community, the population of the community still overweigh the existing number of boreholes.
