Executive Director of ACIA-Ghana calls for investment in Wa West

The Executive Director of Alliance for Community Investment Association, ACIA-Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organization, Elvis Nako Dare has called for investors to invest in the agricultural sector in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region of Ghana.

He has hinted that the Wa West District is a fertile hub for investment.

Mr Dare noted that the district houses in its bosom most raw materials for the productive sector of the Ghanaian economy. He explained that the district is blessed with lots of water bodies that can support and sustain dry season farming.

He noted that, even though the youth in the area are interested in irrigation farming, what hinders their ambition is lack of capital to start.

Mr Dare stressed that the Shea Industry is a fast booming economic driver that has higher potential of creating decent jobs for women and youth.

He said the Wa West District is one of the districts that produces lots of Shea nuts in the country, hence a profitable venture to invest in.

He further beseeched investors to invest in the animal feed processing sector since the raw materials are in abundance in the area.

He intimated that the sectors have the potential of employing thousands of people directly and indirectly.

Alliance for Community Investment Association is pro-poor Non-Governmental Organization which seeks to reduce poverty and suffering of peoples, especially women.
