Election 2024: NDC aims to sweep all eleven seats in the Upper West Region

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is determined to win all eleven seats in the Upper West Region during the December 2024 general elections.

According to former Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency, Haruna Iddrisu, the NDC is working hard to capture the remaining three constituencies in the region that currently do not have NDC Members of Parliament.

He mentioned that the party is confident of winning the Lambussie Constituency seat and is also strategizing to capture the Nandom and Sissala East constituencies in the upcoming elections.

The Tamale South MP made this known in Wa over the weekend during a one-day capacity-building training for NDC Communicators in the Upper West Region.

“We are determined to capture all the 11 seats in the Upper West Region. At least, from my briefing and the information available to me, Lambussie is already in the basket. We can add that on. And we are narrowing on to strategy to get Nandom in and we are determined to win all 11 seats and then also in the Sissala area.”

He indicated that the NDC is satisfied with the performance of the party in the Upper West Region.

“I have been playing some quiet diplomatic role reconciling the previous Sissala candidate with the NDC candidate and they are working together now,” he added.

He criticized the current government by stating that the Akuffo Addo-led administration has taken Ghana from the goal of Ghana Beyond Aid to Ghana Beyond Borrowing.

“We’re aware that President John Dramani Mahama will inherit a problematic economy to manage and efforts will be to stabilize the economy, embark on major constitutional and administrative reforms,” he added.
