Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District To Boosts Sanitation Efforts with Motorbikes Support

The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District Assembly has taken step toward improving local service delivery with the support of six motorbikes to key departmental units. The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. James Wor, officially presented the bikes to the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department and the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing sanitation, community health, and effective governance.

The initiative, funded through the District Common Fund (DCF), aims to strengthen operational capacity and facilitate more efficient service delivery within the district. Of the six Honda motorbikes procured, five were allocated to the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department to bolster their monitoring and supervision activities across various communities. The remaining motorbike was designated for the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development to support outreach programs and community engagement efforts.

In his address, Hon. Wor highlighted that the motorbikes would significantly improve mobility for officers, enabling them to respond swiftly to sanitation concerns, enforce regulations, and promote healthier living conditions throughout the district. “This move aligns with our goal to ensure cleaner environments and better social services for our residents,” he stated.

Beneficiaries from the recipient departments expressed gratitude for the timely support, describing the motorcycles as a critical enhancement to their operational capabilities. Officials noted that limited transportation had previously hampered their ability to reach remote communities, affecting timely intervention and service delivery.

The new motorbikes are expected to facilitate more effective supervision, monitoring, and community outreach, ultimately leading to improved sanitation standards and social welfare outcomes. Department representatives emphasized that the initiative would enable officers to respond more rapidly to sanitation challenges and social welfare cases, thereby fostering healthier and more resilient communities across the district.

This strategic investment underscores the district’s commitment to leveraging resources to improve the quality of life for its residents and ensure sustainable development at the local level.
