Bawumia Express Appreciation to NPP Special Delegates


Ghana's Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says he is humbled by the overwhelming endorsement he received from the delegates at the just-ended Special Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party, NPP.

Addressing the media at his residence in Accra, after the election, Dr Bawumia said he is grateful for the outcome of the election but said it is a step in the towards the main primaries to elect a flagbearer for the party in the 2024 general election. Therefore said there is still much work ahead for him to secure the flgabearership slot of the party on November 4, 2023.

He thanked the leadership of the Party, the Electoral Commission and the entire family of the NPP for the smooth conduct of the polls.

The Vice President called for hardwork and unity within the Party to ensure a resounding victory in the November 4 Delegates Conference, and subsequently in the 2024 General Elections.

This was the outcome of the Special Delegates Conference of the governing NPP held at the weekend.

3. Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng – 95

4. Dr. Owusu Afiriyie Akoto – 36

5. Mr Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko – 9

6. Mr Addai Nemo – 9

7. Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong – 6

8. Mr Joe Ghartey – 4

9. Mr Kwadwo Poku – 3

10. Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku – 0

A run-off will be organised on Saturday, September 2, 2023 for Mr Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko and Mr Addai Nemo to choose one person to add to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon.Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, Dr. Owusu Afiriyie Akoto to make the five selected aspirants for the November 2023 presidential primaries of the party.
