Azumah Resources Ghana Limited Welcomes New Owners ( E&P) with Community Football Match

Azumah Resources Ghana Limited, a prominent mining company headquartered in Nadowli, the district capital of the Nadowli-Kaleo district, celebrated a significant milestone this week as it officially welcomed its new owners, Engineers and Planners (E&P), during a lively inter-community football match held at the McCoy College of Education Astro Turf park in Nadowli.
The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the company and the community, with E&P taking full ownership of the Black Volta Gold project, a key asset of Azumah Resources Limited. During the halftime break of the friendly match, Lawyer Wahid Iddrisu Bampuori, the Community Relations Director of Azumah Resources Ghana Limited, addressed the media to share important updates on the acquisition.
“Engineers and Planners (E&P) has officially acquired Azumah Resources Limited’s Black Volta Gold project,” Lawyer Wahid announced. “They now have full management and control over all assets related to Azumah Resources. Additionally, the necessary resources and funding to commence the development phase of the mine have been secured.”
He further explained that the company plans to spend approximately two years on mining construction before actual extraction begins. Lawyer Wahid also called on community members in the company's operational areas to extend their support and cooperation to E&P as they embark on this new development journey.
Lawyer Wahid emphasized that, the company Azumah Resources Ghana Limited will continue to operate as a corporate entity, with E&P as its sole owner, ensuring clarity in corporate structure and management.
The Nadowly community’s traditional leadership also expressed their views on the development. The Chief of Nadowli - Kunchene , Naa Boniface Danyi, representing the Nadowli Traditional Council at the event , conveyed appreciation for E&P’s acquisition of Azumah Resources. However, he also urged the new owners to address past challenges faced by the company in community relations.
“Naa Boniface Danyi urged E&P to engage qualified youth and local residents in their recruitment processes during the construction and mining process , ensuring inclusive participation and fostering community support for the project”.
As E&P prepares to move forward with the development of the Black Volta Gold project, community members and stakeholders alike are hopeful that the new ownership will bring economic growth, employment opportunities, and sustainable development to the Nadowli-Kaleo district.
The event underscores the importance of collaboration between mining companies and local communities in Ghana, emphasizing transparency, local engagement, and shared prosperity as key pillars for successful resource development.
