Azumah engaged media ahead of mining operations

Azumah Resources Limited, a gold exploration company operating in the Upper West Region, has engaged the media in the Upper West Region on its activities.

Speaking at the engagement in Wa, Nana Dwemoh Benneh, a Director at Azumah Resources Ltd, said it has intensified engagements with stakeholders of its host communities to deepen their cordial relationship ahead of commencement of mine constructions and subsequent exploitation.

He said the engagement was necessary to also enable the communities prepare adequately to take advantage of the Local Content Law of Ghana in the mining sector to benefit from the impending mining activities of the company.

He identified some services the community could provide to include catering, construction, labour and supplies among others which would be a long term opportunity just like communities in some parts of the country where mining activities were ongoing.

Nana Benneh explained that the company had established proven resources in some parts of its concession and was currently engaging potential investors to secure the needed capital to commence mine constructions in the area.

Mr Hector Nyinaku, the Country Administration Manager of Azumah Resources Ltd, observed that the company had identified gold ore in the region that could take it about ten years to exploit but added that prospecting in other areas was still ongoing.

Mr Wahid Bampuori-Iddrisu, a member of the Board, urged the media to project the potential opportunities of the company rather than engaging in acts that could affect the reputation of the company.
