Assembly member appeals for inclusion of Wuogberi School in School Feeding Programme

The Assembly Member for Tuori Electoral Area in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District, Mr Kuubini David, has passionately appealed to the government to consider adding the Wuogberi Primary School in the Ghana School Feeding Programme.

According to Mr Kuubini, adding the school to the programme will serve as an incentive to encourage children in the community to attend school.

“The Wuogberi primary school needs what we called Ghana School Feeding so that the children can stay in school and learn.

But unfortunately on our part we are not yet captured and I have made several appeals to the authorities to add the school in the programme,” he added.

The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) was initiated in 2005 as a social protection intervention under the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme, Pillar 3, in response to the first and second Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The programme seeks to, most especially, improve enrollment and attendance, increase cognitive and academic performance and contribute to gender equity in access to education of children and adolescents.
