ActionAid-Ghana presents business start-up kits to women in Wa East District

The Upper West Regional Programme office of ActionAid-Ghana, a non-governmental organization, has presented business start-up items to some women from the Wa East District.

The items included soap-making materials equipment and rabbits. In an interview with Info Radio in Wa, the Acting Regional Manager for ActionAid-Ghana, Madam Abiba Niabaradun, said the items presented to each woman depend on the skills they acquired.

“Some of the items that we have given to these women as I mentioned based on their own chosen skills they sought to acquire. We gave them the training and provided the startup kits on those skills that we trained them,” she explained.

She indicated that the training has impacted positively the women by bringing financial relief to them and their households.

Madam Niabaradun also indicated that they will soon present some of the items to the rest of the women in all ActionAid-supported groups across the region.

She mentioned that the project was implemented in 25 communities across the Sissala East and Lawra Municipalities including the Wa East District.

Madam Kareema Mujeeb, a beneficiary, expressed gratitude to ActionAid for helping to improve their businesses.

“We cannot express enough gratitude for the support provided by ActionAid. Thanks to their assistance, we are now able to support our relatives as well.”
