Zingu Assembly Member donates to BECE candidates, KG in his Electoral Area


Hon Abdul-Wahab Nuhu donating at Gbegru JHS

Hon Abdul-Wahab Nuhu, Assembly Member for Zingu Electoral Area in the Wa Municipality, has donated some learning materials to BECE candidates and KG pupils in some selected schools in the electoral area.


The beneficiary schools include Gbegru Islamic Junior High School, Zingu Junior High and Zingu Kindergarten. Each BECE candidate received Mathematical sets and pens. At Zingu KG, he donated 100 each of exercise books, erasers and pencils.


The Assembly Member at the donation on Friday, October 29, 2021 urged the candidates to put the materials to good use and learn hard to come out with flying colours.

He admonished the students to emulate lifestyles of some bad elements of the society whom they live together with so as not to jeopardize their education.


Hon Wahab further admonished girl children to be cautious of their sexual and reproductive lifestyles and to not fall victims of teenage pregnancy and ultimately school dropout which may plunge their lives into misery and abject poverty.


Headteacher at Gbegru JHS, Mr Hudi Hamza expressed gratitude to the Assembly Member for the gesture saying it was the first of its kind.


He urged the pupils to make the Assembly Member proud.

The Headmistress of the Zingu KG, Madam Imoro Elham thanked the Assembly Member and prayed God’s blessings for him as she could not hide her joy.


She appealed for a classroom complex to accommodate the little children as they currently undergo learning in a very small room and some under trees.


Chairman of the Zingu PTA, Mr Jatoe Issahaku, thanked the Assembly Member for the gesture saying it was a relief to parents.


The pupils of the schools promised to make the Assembly Member proud.


The 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) being conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) is scheduled to begin on Monday 15th November 2021 and end on Friday 19th November 2021 across the country.
