The immediate past 2nd Head Prefect of the Valley View University Basic School Complex in Techiman, Wilfred Akparep, has entreated Basic School Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates not to be idle while waiting for their results to proceed to the second cycle institutions.

He said they should engage in pre-secondary education activities such as supplementary classes and further learning to prepare themselves for the task ahead of them in the Senior High Schools and technical institutions.

Wilfred Akparep, who participated in the just-ended BECE at the VVU Basic School, said this in a statement on Tuesday, appealing to his colleagues to help their parents in any meaningful way they could while at home.

He said that would enable their parents to raise funds to support their education in the next level of their educational endeavours. He also encouraged his juniors to remain disciplined while learning hard.

Master Akparep expressed optimism about the VVU Basic School’s performance in the just-ended BECE, expressing gratitude to the School’s Management and Staff for ensuring excellence over the years.

He stated that the school had produced quality graduates for the Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Ghana, indicating that his batch would follow suit with excellent performance to make the School proud.

“Parents and guardians should be prayerful for their children while their scripts are being marked”, he said.

Master Akparep thanked the government for exhibiting commitment to improving education in the country and urged that more investments should be made in the education sector going forward.

When asked about his preferred Senior High School, he mentioned Presbyterian Boys Senior High School at Legon, Accra, where his brother, John Akparep Jnr., was schooling.
