The Upper Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih says no regional NPP executive has been excluded from activities relating to the visit of the president of Ghana to the Upper West Region.
According to him, he held several meetings with top regional New Patriotic Party executives in relation to the visit of
President Nana Akufo Addo to the Upper West Region on August 21st.
Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih was responding to claims by the Upper West NPP regional executives committee on Wednesday who claimed they have been excluded from events and activities leading up to the visit of President Nana Akufo Addo to the Upper West Region.
Speaking to Wa-based Info Radio at his office on Wednesday Evening, the Upper West Regional Minister indicated that, he met the regional chairman of the party together with the regional secretary and other executives to inform them of the president's itinerary when in the Upper West Region and wonders why the party regional executives will turnaround to state that they have been excluded from all activities and preparation leading up to the president's visit.
The regional minister also revealed that the regional communications director of the party has already been engaged together with other party executives to lead an education campaign regarding the president's visits to the Upper West Region.
The Upper West Regional Minister, therefore, described the decision by the regional party regional executives and members to boycott all activities of the president when he arrive in the region as unfortunate, since their reasons for such an action are unsubstantiated
Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has therefore appealed to all party members and executives, chiefs, and residents in the region to come out in their numbers to give a rousing welcome to the president when he visits the region.
When in the Upper West Region, President Akufo Addo is expected to inspect ongoing government projects and commission completed ones.
