Sissala West MP slams Chairman, Regional Minister over school feeding allocation, vows resistance

The Member of Parliament for Sissala West, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, has launched a scathing attack on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Upper West Regional Chairman, Abdul Nasir Saani and the Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing, over what he describes as an "outrageous and ill-conceived" decision to seize 30% of the School Feeding Program allocations from each constituency.

In a strongly worded statement on his official Facebook page, Mr Sukparu condemned the move as "selfish, unjust, and completely unacceptable," making it clear that Sissala West will not participate in what he termed a "shameful arrangement."

According to the MP, the alleged plan involves diverting a portion of the School Feeding allocations from all constituencies in the region to be redistributed under a so-called "regional share," a decision he claims favours more populated schools and disregards equitable development.

“The selection of the most populated schools as the so-called ‘regional share’ reeks of calculated bias and a total disregard for equity,” Sukparu stated.

“This is a betrayal of the very people whose sweat and sacrifice brought this government into power.”

He further warned that no caterers imposed by the regional executives will be allowed to operate in Sissala West, insisting that the constituency has capable and loyal party members qualified to manage the programme.

The MP’s statement also emphasized the role Sissala West constituents played in ensuring the party’s electoral success and expressed frustration that those same individuals are now being sidelined in policy benefits.

“This is not a plea — this is a warning. If anyone dares to proceed with this unfair action, they will be met with firm and equal resistance,” he warned.
