Sanori youth appeals for support to build youth centre


Youth of Sanori in the Wa West District has appealed for support to build a youth centre towards promoting development in the community.


Speaking in an interview with Info Radio at the community, the Youth President, Timothy Bamba said the youth has over the years engaged in community development discourses including school and water issues, and now sees the need to have a youth development centre.


He intimated that the centre when built will provide an avenue for holding meetings, cultural and customary events, post-natal health centre, and accommodation for teachers, among others.


Mr Bamba said the youth has started the project with the resources they have mobilized through their monthly dues.


He noted that they have purchased some of the building materials which are not in enough quantities to complete the project.


He thus, appealed to benevolent individuals and organizations to come to their aid.


Thomas Donglive, the Youth Vice President said the youth centre project idea come about in 2019 which the youth has since then been mobilizing to have it materials.


He said they engage on farming to raise funds in addition to their monthly contributions for the project.


He called for assistance in terms of the farm inputs, as well as directly unto the project.


Youth centres play a critical role in the lives of many young people. Today, many people seek out youth centers to help the development of their children. There are many studies that show positive outcomes of being involved in youth programs.
