Poor infrastructure of Pase Basic School is affecting academic activities of the school, residents of Pase in the Wa West District have said.
The school, which currently grades from Kindergarten (KG) up to Junior High School (JHS) 3 has only six classrooms, three each for the KG and the JHS.
Speaking to Info Radio at Pase after a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, the PTA Chairman of the school, Soyiri Angbamaala Kwame said the whole of the primary classes are operating under trees due to lack of enough classrooms.
He said they have taken several steps on the matter but haven’t seen any results.
He said the school does not also have a feeding program which is affecting the morale of the learners.
He said they used to feed them from the proceeds of a farm they established but said they could not continue it this year because of the high cost of farm inputs.
Madam Safia Mane, a parent, called on the government to provide more infrastructure while Deongnuba Kantanye, another parent, said the poor floor of the classrooms is affecting the learning of the children.
