Police intervene in stabbing incident at Wa T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS


The Upper West Regional Police Command has swiftly intervened in a violent incident reported at Wa T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, following an alleged stabbing involving two students.


The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, prompting an immediate response from the police after they received a distress report from the school. According to the Regional Police Command, officers were quickly dispatched to the scene, where they managed to rescue the student suspected to have carried out the stabbing. The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations.


The victim, who sustained injuries during the altercation, was promptly taken to the Upper West Regional Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care. Medical personnel have confirmed that the student is responding well to treatment.


In the aftermath of the incident, the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Darko Offel Lomotey, engaged with school authorities to ensure calm and reinforce security measures. Plain-clothed officers have since been deployed on campus to monitor the situation and maintain peace.


The Upper West Regional Police Command has reassured the public of its commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of students and staff in all educational institutions across the region.
