Residents of Nyubullu, a community in the Gbingbaala electoral area of the Lambussie District, are calling on the government to take immediate action to address what they describe as years of neglect and underdevelopment.
Speaking to Info Radio, community members expressed frustration over the lack of basic infrastructure, including a Kindergarten (KG) school, a health facility, and access to reliable electricity. They say these gaps are undermining education, healthcare, and overall living conditions.
According to residents, children as young as two years old are unable to begin early childhood education because there is no proper school facility in the community.
They added that accessing healthcare has become a significant challenge, especially for children, pregnant women, and those in emergencies, putting lives at risk.
Madam Lucy Danubanaa, along with an elderly resident, voiced disappointment over what they see as repeated broken promises from political representatives.
She claimed that while politicians frequently visit Nyubullu during campaign seasons with pledges of development, those commitments have not materialized.
“There has been no school block, no health facility, and no electricity for our people,” Madam Danubanaa lamented, stressing that the lack of these essentials continues to affect the community’s well-being.
The residents are urging both district and national authorities to prioritize Nyubullu in upcoming development projects to ensure access to education, healthcare, and other essential services.
