Nyoli CHPS Compound not commissioned over 3 years after completion

Mr. Tagnifaa-Engnubapuo Thomas, a Unit Committee Member for Nyoli Electoral Area in the Wa West District, has expressed worry over poor healthcare situation after a health facility at the Nyoli community has since not been commissioned over 3 years after completion.

He outlined a myriad of difficulties residents of the area go through in accessing their healthcare needs, as a result.

He stated that the community has no public health facility which has negatively affected especially women who need to attend antenatal and postnatal services.

He thus revealed that a Community-based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compound constructed at the community about three years ago was yet to be opened to the public.

Explaining the situation to Info News, Mr Tagnifaa-Engnubapuo said the community currently relies on a private health facility at the community.

He however noted that accessing healthcare needs at the private facility is not attainable by all since its services require a cash and carry payment modalities.

On the side of education, the Unit Committee Member referred to lack of furniture at the Nyoli Basic School as disheartening.

He stated that the pupils lie on the bare floor in the classroom to study due to lack of desks.

He appealed to the Wa West District Assembly and other benevolent organizations to come to their aid.
