Military wins Wa Naa’s peace games as peace returns to Wa


Military personnel of the Wa No. 10 Mechanized Battalion has emerged winners in the peace and unity games organized the Wa Naa, Naa Seidu Fuseini Pelpuo IV, to restore harmony following the July 1 military brutality in Wa.


Congratulating the military team in Wa, the Secretary of the Wa Naa, Jinpenhi Naa Kadiri Ibrahim, said in every human setting where misunderstandings are inevitable, there always exists several other reasons to reconcile and live at peace again.


He said that the Commanding Officer of the Military, Lt. Col. Kwesi Gyimah, related well with the vision of the Wa Naa in returning peace to the country’s beacon of peace.


The Chief expressed appreciation to people of Wa for massing up in acceptance for the reconciliation and retention of peace and unity during the games.


Coach of the military soccer team, Military 11, Lance Corporal Kodua Isaac, boasted that the victory was a hard earned one and was hoping to more of such games in the region.


He appealed to ‘Camboo’ drivers to now accept them on board since the military and civilians were now harmonized.


Private Nyampong Patrick, captain of the Military 11, apologized to the residents of Wa as he invited them to join the military in the feast.



The military team went to the barracks with a feast on a ‘fat bull’ having beaten the Magazine 11, soccer team of mechanics at the Wa Magazine, on penalty shootouts on 5:4 aggregate.


The gala was organized by the Wa Naa to restore peace and harmonious living among residents and the military following the July 1 ghastly scene that saw the men in uniform brutalized unsuspecting civilians.


Other competing teams were Media 11, soccer team of media practitioners in Wa and Butchers 11, soccer team of butchers in Wa.
