Wa-Kpongu & Charia, Ghana – In a passionate call to action, John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), urged residents of Wa Central constituency to vote for him and his party in the upcoming 2024 general elections. Speaking to a large crowd in Wa-Kpongu and Charia, Mahama emphasized the NDC’s commitment to rescuing Ghana from the “mess” left by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mahama, who previously served as President of Ghana, criticized the incumbent NPP government, asserting that the promises made during the 2016 and 2020 election campaigns were left unfulfilled. “The NPP came into power with grand promises that have turned out to be mere rhetoric. This has resulted in the current economic hardship that many Ghanaians are facing,” he stated.
During his address, Mahama highlighted key issues affecting the constituency, including rising living costs, unemployment, and inadequate infrastructure. He revealed his vision for a better Ghana, emphasizing the need for effective leadership and a government that prioritizes the welfare of its citizens.
“We have the blueprint to restore our nation’s dignity and ensure that every Ghanaian has access to basic necessities. But to do this, we need your support. We need you to go out and vote for change in 2024,” Mahama implored.
The former president expressed gratitude to the residents for their past support and encouraged them to join forces with the NDC to bring about positive change. He reassured them that the party is committed to addressing their concerns and improving their lives.
The event drew a diverse crowd, with many residents expressing optimism about Mahama’s renewed candidacy. “We need a leader who understands our struggles. We believe that Mahama can help us regain the prosperity we had before,” said one local supporter.
As the 2024 elections approach, Mahama's visit to Wa-Kpongu and Charia marks a significant step in his campaign to rally support in the Northern Region, where he aims to secure a substantial number of votes.
