The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman of Korinyiri D/A Primary School, Mr. Abdul-Iddi Ibrahim, has raised alarm over the deteriorating condition of the school’s infrastructure, which he says is severely hampering academic work and endangering the lives of pupils and teachers.
Speaking in an interview with Info Radio, Mr. Ibrahim described the state of the school as "deplorable," noting that classrooms have leaking roofs, cracked walls, and broken windows.
He lamented the absence of basic classroom furniture, saying both teachers and pupils have no desks or chairs, forcing students to sit on the dusty floors during lessons.

“There is no furniture for teachers and students to study on. The school is lagging behind and I sometimes wonder if we are Ghanaians too,” Mr. Ibrahim said. “Teachers don’t even accept postings to this school due to its poor state.”
The PTA Chairman disclosed that the school is often forced to send pupils home when it threatens to rain, as the leaking roofs make it impossible to continue lessons.
He expressed concern that the poor learning environment is taking a toll on the academic performance and morale of the students.
Mr. Ibrahim also pointed out that a previous government had begun constructing a three-classroom block for the school, but the project has since stalled. He said that members of the Konriyiri community are now planning to mobilize resources to continue the construction themselves in a bid to provide a more conducive learning environment for their children.

He appealed to government authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to intervene and help complete the school infrastructure to ensure that children in the area receive quality basic education in a safe environment.
The Konriyiri D/A Primary School serve hundreds of pupils in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region and have long struggled with under-resourced facilities and neglect.
