Kameleon Communications Ghana Limited, operators of Info Radio 91.1 MHz in Wa, has strongly denied claims made by the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Samuel Nartey George, that the station is operating without proper authorization.
In a press release issued on Friday, June 13, 2025, the company described the Minister’s statements as “misleading” and asserted that they have met all legal and regulatory obligations required by the National Communications Authority (NCA).
According to Kameleon Communications, the company has fulfilled the necessary procedures for the renewal of its broadcasting authorization under the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769). The management further stated that all financial obligations to the NCA have been fully settled.
“In fact, the NCA issued a provisional authorization to us on November 18, 2024, confirming our lawful status,” said Gabriel Mwini, Managing Director of Kameleon Communications.
“Our renewal application was submitted on August 15, 2024, well ahead of the expiration of our previous license.”
The company expressed concern over what it described as inaccurate public remarks by the Minister, noting that such comments could harm its reputation and disrupt operations.
Kameleon Communications is calling on the NCA to publicly clarify the company’s status and urged the Minister to verify facts before issuing statements that could misinform the public and stakeholders.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and full compliance with Ghana’s broadcasting regulations.
