Wa Based Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU) has made history at the 4th Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2026), held from May 29 to 31 at Takoradi Technical University. The institution’s faculty members distinguished themselves among the best researchers nationwide, securing four prestigious individual awards — a record-breaking haul that underscores DHLTU’s rising prominence in applied research and innovation.

ARCTUG 2026 convened researchers, academics, industry leaders, and policymakers from Ghana’s ten technical universities, serving as the premier platform for showcasing cutting-edge applied research. DHLTU’s representatives delivered compelling presentations and innovative exhibitions, earning recognition across multiple categories.

The most notable achievement belonged to Mr. Sixtus Bayaa Martin Saana, who achieved the rare feat of winning two top honors in a single conference. His presentation was deemed the most outstanding among hundreds of entries, earning him the coveted Overall Best Paper Presentation award — the highest individual accolade at ARCTUG 2026. Simultaneously, he received the Best Industry Relevant Paper award, highlighting the practical significance of his research to Ghana’s industrial and economic development.

Celebrating Female Research Excellence

Madam Patricia Glago was honored as the Best Female Presenter, recognizing her exceptional scholarly presentation and reinforcing DHLTU’s commitment to fostering gender-inclusive research excellence.

The DHLTU research team was also awarded the Best Research Paper accolade for their groundbreaking study on Digital Marketing, Fintech, and Economic Transformation. This work, presented during the conference, was praised for its relevance to Ghana’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

Beyond paper presentations, DHLTU showcased its applied research capabilities at the Innovation Exhibition. Mr. Obed 'Rasta' Ayitey received a Certificate of Participation for his contribution, exemplifying the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and industry collaboration.
