Foundation for Global Life Changers Launches Career Guidance Initiative for Wa SHS Final-Year Students

The Foundation for Global Life Changers has successfully organized an extensive educational and career guidance program for the final-year students of Wa Secondary Senior High School (SHS), aiming to equip them with essential skills and knowledge to navigate their academic and professional futures.

The initiative, which took place recently at Wa SHS, focused on helping students understand how to manage their academic journey, explore potential career paths, and align their inherent talents and interests with suitable professions. The program was part of the Foundation’s broader effort to address the growing need for effective career orientation among Ghanaian youth.

Speaking on Info Radio, Mr. James Ziekye, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, explained that the motivation behind the program stemmed from increasing concerns over the challenges students face in identifying and developing viable careers. “Inadequate career guidance has led many young people to make uninformed professional choices, often resulting in dissatisfaction and underachievement later in life,” he stated.

Mr. Ziekye underscored the significance of early career planning and personal development, emphasizing that students should first understand their own abilities, interests, and values before selecting their career paths. He also shared strategies for academic excellence, highlighting discipline, focus, and dedication as critical components of success.

The program received positive feedback from participating students, some of whom expressed their appreciation for the insights gained. They indicated that the session empowered them to set clear goals and make informed decisions regarding their tertiary education choices.

This initiative marks a vital step toward enhancing career awareness among Ghanaian youth, fostering a generation of well-informed students equipped to pursue meaningful and fulfilling careers.
