The Lassia Tuolu Senior High School Past Students Association (LAPSA) has on May 19, 2024, donated assorted items worth over GH₵68,000 to the school following a devastating fire incident.

Fire on Sunday, March 10, 2024, destroyed the school’s multipurpose dining hall complex with food, cooking utensils and furniture. The LAPSA responded to their alma mater’s clarion call for support following the fire incident.

The past students of Lassia Tuolu SHS mobilized about GH₵96,000 through contributions to purchase a motor tricycle, 250 serving pans with lids, one roaster, 2 barrel drums, 2 BS Veronica containers, and four aluminium basins.

The rest are 2 size-60 cooking and size -40 cooking pots, 2 size-30 cooking pots with lids, four thick rubber basins, a mortar and pestles and rehabilitation of two push trucks with tyres.  The past students also purchased a set of entertainment gadgets for their alma mater.

During a brief ceremony to donate the items to the school, Mr. Kombanpuo Martin Lucas, representing the LAPSA President, praised former students for their contributions to their alma mater.

He urged the school's management and staff to continue emphasizing high morals and discipline among the students.

“Members of the Executive Committee of LAPSA are humbled by the magnanimity each and every one of you has exhibited. Your willingness to support our alma mater resonates as a resounding affirmation of the strength of our community and the values we hold sacrosanct.

“We call on the management and staff to continue to enshrine the core values into our students – the virtues of perseverance, sound knowledge, and paramountly high morals.”

He stated that it was within these “sacred walls that we acquired a sound education, forged enduring friendships, imbibed invaluable wisdom, and discovered our innate potential for the service of humanity.”

The headmaster of Lassia Tuolu Senior High School, Banongwie Emmanuel, expressed gratitude to LAPSA for their donation. He mentioned that the donation would be particularly beneficial for the school's kitchen.

Additionally, he noted that the government has awarded a contract through GETFUND for the construction of a new dining hall, and work is currently in progress at the project site.
