Fian Community celebrates annual Danzinen Kulugri Festival

The Fian community in the Daffiama-Bussei-Issa district has celebrated its annual Danzinen Kulugri festival, a cherished tradition that marks unity, culture, and heritage.

The festival brought together people from the district and the regional level. This year's celebration had the theme "Knowing our Culture; Our Pride".

Madam Rita Dapila, a representative from the Centre for National Culture, addressed the gathering and urged the residents to be proud of their culture as it signifies where they come from.

She explained that having pride in our culture is essential because it gives us a sense of identity, preserves traditions, and provides valuable wisdom.

"Our cultural identity is very important. We all have a right to know who we are and where we come from," she added.

The Assembly Member of the Fian Electoral Area, Mr. Stephen Katoule, commended the leaders of the district for implementing some developmental projects in the community, such as a communications network, Junior High School block, water system, and road network.

However, he mentioned some challenges that the community is facing, such as the Fian, Chabaa, Bussei road, where many accidents have occurred.

He also highlighted the deplorable state of the teacher's accommodation in Pulbaa and appealed to the government to renovate it.
