Ex-convicts will return with vengeance if society fails to accept them – State Attorney

The State Attorney for the Upper West Region, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur says ex-convicts from prisons will return to society with a vengeance if society fails and/or refuses to accept them.

Lawyer Shakur popularly called “The Hammer,” said this in an interview with Info Radio at the sidelines of a donation exercise by Healthway Foundation to feast with inmates of the Wa Central Prisons in the festive period.

He advised that society should not stigmatize ex-convicts in order that they would feel a part of society.

He said the public should realize that the moment society fails to accept the ex-convicts, they would return with a vengeance and crime to society.

Lawyer Shakur also admonished convicts and ex-convicts to internalize the situations that took them to prison and make a vow not to repeat the same so as not to go back to prison.

He said that the legal ladder was tall and advised convicts, to the extent that they believe in their innocence, to take advantage of the various processes to seek justice.
