Deplorable state of Dorimon-Dabo road posing health risk to people - Assembly Member

Assembly Member for Dabo Electoral Area in the Wa West District, Mr Banabas Gaazienye has expressed as posing risk to the health of people, the unfriendly nature of roads in the electoral area.

He said the Dorimon-Dabo road is in a deplorable state and has posed a serious challenge to the lives and wellbeing of people living in the electoral area.

Narrating the ordeal to Info Radio in Wa, he said the poor state of the road has made it difficult for sick people in critical condition to be transported to the ‘advanced’ health facilities at Wechiau or Wa.

Mr Gaazienye said further that the unfriendly nature of the road, especially during the rainy seasons, has also made it difficult for health personnels working at health facilities in the electoral area to go to work.

The Assembly Member added that, lack of a detention room at the Dabo Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound for women who go there to deliver has also posed a serious challenge to expectant mothers.

He said some women who were delivered successfully at the facility and were discharged to go home immediately after delivery, later faced some avoidable health complications at home.

He added that apart from the Dabo CHPS compound, other health facilities in the Electoral Area have serious problems which need urgent attention.
