DBI: DCE hands over tricycle ambulance, motorcycles to two CHPS compounds

The District Chief Executive of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District, Hon Nadi Imoro Sanda has handed over a tricycle ambulance and a motor bicycle to the Kamahegu Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound to help improve timely access to healthcare services.

The District Chief Executive, who handed over another motor bicycle to Dakpaa CHPS compound, stated that the lack of an ambulance in the area had been a significant hindrance to timely access to healthcare service.

He also lamented the bad nature of the road network in the area.

The handing over was in line with his last promise to provide the remote area with a Community Emergency Transport System (CETs) in the district.

He said in order to solve the community’s challenges in transporting patients during an emergency, it is essential to give the CHPS access to the makeshift ambulance.

The District Chief Executive urged the chiefs and residents of Kamanhegu to maintain the ambulance properly in order to keep it in excellent condition.

He added that the Nana Akufo-Addo-led NPP government is working hard to improve health services in the country.
