The Member of Parliament and the National Democratic Congress 2024 parliamentary candidate for the Lawra Constituency, Mr Bede Anwataazumo Ziedeng, has undertaken several projects in health, education, roads, and water during his first term in office as MP.

Mr Ziedeng became the MP for the Lawra constituency in 2022. According to him, he successfully completed various projects in the areas of health, education, water, roads, and sports.

While speaking at the commissioning of two mechanized boreholes at Tolibri and Nanyare, Mr Ziedeng outlined the projects he executed as follows:

In the health sector, he mechanized the water systems at Domwine and Eremong Health Centre. He also repaired the Lawra Municipal Hospital's X-ray machine, which had been non-functional for several months, at a cost of GHC 18,000. The breakdown of this machine had caused many patients to travel to Nandom, Jirapa, or Wa for these services.

Additionally, he provided support to the Boo Maternity Ward with 50 bags of cement, ten packs of roofing sheets, and a cash amount of GHC 20,000. He also renovated the Nanyaare CHPS compound at a cost of GHC 71,000 and provided three heavy-duty air conditioners to the cold room of the Lawra Hospital for the storage of essential medicine and vaccines.  Furthermore, the MP organized Free Health Screening for his constituents, benefiting over 658 people.

In the education sector, Mr. Ziedeng has supported over 300 students with GHC 1,000 each to enter tertiary institutions. He also donated five laptop computers and office chairs to the Lawra Municipal Education Directorate and supported the Brifoh SHS WASSCE candidates with feeding and a cash amount of GHC 18,000.

In the area of water, the Lawra constituency MP has drilled 4 mechanized boreholes in the communities of Brifoh Baapare, Yatuor, Tolibri, and Nanyare, all within the Lawra constituency. Additionally, he repaired over 70 broken-down boreholes across the constituency.

On roads, Mr. Bede A. Ziedeng cut the sod for the reconstruction of the Lawra-Hain road at Yagtuur on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He explained the road's importance and highlighted its economic benefits to the people of the Municipality and its surroundings. He assured commuters and residents that the road would be completed to ease the movement of goods and services.

The Upper West Regional Roads Maintenance Manager for the Ghana Highways Authority, Engineer Solomon Adjei, indicated that the road is about 45 kilometers and will cost GHC 14,838,636. It is expected to be completed within a year.
