Bawumia Gains Upper West’s Youth Vanguard as Bosco Luri Tia Quits Kenedy Agyepong Camp!

ree

The Immediate Past Upper West Regional Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bosco Luri Tia, has decisively severed ties with the camp of Kenedy Agyepong, the party's current flagbearer hopeful, and aligned himself firmly with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former NPP flagbearer and 2024 presidential candidate.

This bold realignment marks a significant turning point in the internal dynamics of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

Mr. Luri Tia, widely respected for his exceptional grassroots mobilisation skills and strategic communication expertise, leaves behind a substantial void within the Kenedy Agyepong campaign.

His departure is not only a loss of a seasoned organizer but also a strategic blow, given his deep connections and influence within the youth demographic in the Upper West Region.

In a strongly worded and unequivocal statement, personally signed by Mr. Luri Tia, he categorically denied rumours of his expulsion or removal from the Ken Agyepong camp.

“I was never removed or expelled from the campaign team as some propaganda pieces have suggested,” he affirmed. He further emphasized that his decision to switch allegiance was a deliberate and calculated move, one in which he takes great pride.

The former youth organiser’s assessment of the political landscape led him to a profound realisation: Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia embodies the leadership qualities essential for steering the NPP to victory in the 2028 general elections and revitalising the hopes of Ghanaians nationwide.

“In these crucial times, he is the candidate most capable of leading the NPP to triumph and restoring hope to our people,” Mr. Luri Tia asserted in his statement.

A staunch adherent to the Dankwa-Busia-Dombo tradition that has long underpinned the party’s values, Mr. Luri Tia implored all party members, irrespective of their preferred candidate, to prioritize unity and uphold the dignity of the New Patriotic Party ahead of the presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2025.

He cautioned against any actions that might sow discord or tarnish the party’s esteemed reputation.

The Kenedy Agyepong camp now faces a formidable challenge in the Upper West Region. With Mr. Luri Tia’s departure—an influential figure fluent in the dominant regional languages of Sissali, Dagaare, and Waali, and esteemed for his affable nature—the allegiance of many young supporters is poised to shift.

The momentum appears to be shifting toward the “It is Possible” campaign under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, signalling a significant reshaping of political support in this pivotal region.
