The Assemblyman for the Zang Electoral Area, Simon Peter, has voiced urgent concerns regarding the dilapidated state of educational and transportation infrastructure in his constituency. In an interview with Info Radio in Zang, Mr. Peter highlighted the pressing need for immediate renovation of school facilities to foster a conducive learning environment.
“The condition of several schools in the area is deplorable,” Mr. Peter stated. “There is an urgent need for the district assembly to prioritize the rehabilitation of these school blocks to ensure our children receive quality education in a safe environment.”
He also drew attention to the challenges facing the Tibani Vocational School, which he described as severely hampered by inadequate infrastructure, notably the absence of hostel facilities. The lack of accommodation options has forced many students to travel long distances from their homes, adversely affecting their attendance and academic performance.
Beyond education, Mr. Peter raised concerns about the poor state of roads within the Zang Electoral Area. He appealed to district authorities to expedite road rehabilitation efforts, emphasizing that improved transportation infrastructure is vital for enhancing accessibility and overall development in the community.
