Youth in Bulenga embarked on communal labour to fixed roads

Youth in Bulenga, a community in the Wa East District has on Friday embarked on communal labour to fixed roads linking the community to other communities.

They lamented that the deplorable nature of the road network affects economic activities.

Speaking to Info Radio during the program, Mr Abdulia Godi Haki, a youth, said the road was awarded on contract but the contract was out from the site for unknown reasons.

He bemoaned that they cannot access the market at Wa with their farm produce during the rainy season.

He noted that the communities around are heavily into okra, yam, and maize farming.

He also added that if the roads are not fixed it will serve as a death trap for the commuters as the rains are setting in. The youth said the work is not on a partisan basis.

They said the DCE, Mr Suleman Edwurah Mahama Kandi has hinted that he with raise funds to construct the road.

The youth, however, appealed to the Wa East District Chief Executive and Member of Parliament to help bring back the contract to the site.
