The women of Jongfian in the Wa East District are facing a serious problem due to the lack of a maternity ward and a midwife at their community CHPS Compound.

The absence of qualified medical personnel and a maternity ward, combined with the poor state of their road, makes it difficult for them to travel to Bulenga, which is the only nearby healthcare facility for delivery.

In a conversation with Info Radio in the community, Madam Regina Tegee, a resident of the area, mentioned that she was forced to give birth at home recently due to the absence of a maternity ward and midwife.

She has urged the government to provide a maternity ward and a midwife for the CHPS Compound to help the community.

Langzimbo Rashid and Shaibu Sulemana, who are troubled by such situations as well as the general insecurity in the community, have announced that the community has agreed not to participate in the 2024 general elections if the government does not address their concerns.
