Wa West: Unite for the development of our district – residents tell MP and DCE

The Health Committee Chairman for Kulkpali Health Centre in the Wa West District, Mr Yorzie Putiere is urging the Member of Parliament (MP) and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to unite their efforts in fighting for the development of the district.

He said the delivery of healthcare services is hampered by the lack of accommodation for nurses who served at the facility, among others.

Mr Putiere, who was also a former Assembly Member for Dabo Electoral Area in the Wa West District, observed that the challenges bedevilling the health facility could be surmounted with ease if the two political heads unite their efforts.

He noted that the availability of a nurses’ accommodation could facilitate timely access to healthcare services and enhance quality healthcare delivery at the facility.

Mr Putiere also lamented the lack of a laboratory unit at the facility which denies residents and patients access to certain essential healthcare services.

He indicated that the laboratory could be made judicious of and reduce travelling risk amidst poor roads to access laboratory services.

Madam Rita George, another resident of the community, lamented the bad state of the roads in the area saying that it hampers access to healthcare services.

The residents, therefore, appealed to the MP and The DCE not to tow political lines but unite their efforts as they believe that would bring about the needed development in the district.
