Wa West District to Benefit from Agenda 111 with a Modern District Hospital


The Wa West District is earmarked to benefit from the government of Ghana Agenda 111, which aims to provide districts, municipalities, and regions that are without hospitals.

The District Chief Executive for Wa West Madam, Vida Diorotey highlighted some of the government's policies that will ensure effective health services in the district made this known.

Speaking on the occasion at the commissioning of a medical laboratory unit for the Dorimon health center, she indicated that, the government under the agenda 111 programs is going to construct an ultra-modern hospital facility for the district that will help improve health care delivery for residents.

She, therefore, calls on residents and the women Mother to Mother Support Group in Dorimon to educate women on Cerebrospinal Meningitis CSM during the warm season to reduce the risk of the disease.

The acting president of the Dorimon Traditional Council- Naa Bawa Seidu, Dousi-Naa at the event cautioned the people in the Wa West District to stop practicing female genital mutilation in the District, especially within the Dorimon Traditional Council.

Naa Bawa Seidu added that the practice of FGM has been depriving young girls of their dignity and also violating their human rights. He admonished that the Traditional Council will make a bye-law against the practice in his traditional area.
