Wa West District Hospital lacks sufficient operational space - Medical Director
The Medical Director at the Wa West District Hospital, Dr. Benjamin Nsobila Aminyuure has said insufficient space at the hospital is a major challenge to the operations of the health facility.
He said the Health Facility currently shares space with the District Health Directorate which is adversely affecting their services to their clients.
Dr. Aminyuure said this when the Member of Parliament for the Wa West Constituency visited the facility on Tuesday, June 9, 2021 to ascertain some challenges affecting the facility as part of activities to mark his 53rd birthday.
The Medical Director therefore appealed to the MP to collaborate with the District Assembly to provide an office space for the health directorate to afford the health facility the opportunity to operate effectively.
He also identified lack of canopies at the walk ways at the hospital as another challenge affecting the facility.
He said due to the lack of canopy at the walk way, anytime they performed an operation at the theatre is is raining they have to wait until the rain stops before they can send the patient to the ward.
On his part, the MP, Sup. Peter Lanchene Toobu promised to work within his limit to support the facility to operate to serve the good people of the district and beyond.
He said the facility is one of his priorities as it serves a critical component of human needs.
