Wa East: MP’s free health screening enters second phase

The Member of Parliament for Wa East constituency, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, in collaboration with a Turkey-based non-governmental organization (NGO) called West Africa Humanitarian Agency conducted a health screening exercise for his constituents.

The exercise aimed to diagnose individuals with hernia and provide them with the necessary medical attention.

The first batch of hernia patients was successfully operated on and they are now in good health condition.  Dr. Jasaw commended the stakeholders who supported the exercise for its success.

“Many of the beneficiaries appear healthy while carrying out their daily activities. I would like to thank the Wa Municipal Hospital, Health Directorate, and their staff for their collaborative efforts.”

The MP expressed gratitude to his constituency team for ensuring the success of the first phase of health screening.

The second phase of the exercise is expected to occur between April and May this year. The goal is to screen 200 people this time. In the first phase, a total of 137 people were screened, with 60 of them diagnosed with hernia.

A team of medical professionals from the NGO successfully operated on the affected individuals at the Wa Municipal Hospital.
