Wa East MP organizes health screening for constituents

The Member of Parliament for the Wa East constituency, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, in collaboration with a Turkey-based Non-governmental organization (NGO), West Africa Humanitarian Agency, has successfully organized a health screening exercise for residents of the constituency.

The exercise was aimed at diagnosing people with hernia and providing them with the necessary medical attention. A total of 137 people were screened during the exercise, with 60 of them diagnosed with hernia.

The affected individuals were subsequently operated on at the weekend at the Wa Municipal Hospital by a team of medical professionals from the NGO.

Speaking on the success of the exercise, the Member of Parliament expressed his gratitude to the NGO for its support and commitment to improving the health of the people in the area.

He noted that the exercise was timely as many of the affected people had been living with hernia for years without access to proper medical care. The MP also urged other NGOs and philanthropic organizations to emulate the gesture of the Turkey-based NGO by supporting health initiatives in the area.

Dr. Jasaw noted that the government alone cannot meet the health care needs of the people, hence the need for collaboration with other stakeholders. The people who benefited from the exercise expressed their appreciation to the MP and the NGO for their intervention.

They noted that the exercise had brought relief to them and their families and expressed hope that similar initiatives would be organized in the near future.
